15: Novak – ‘Hurricane’

Andrew Novak (Young Adult), Rena Eubanks (Young Adult) Natalia Novak (Young Adult)

Natalia had been adamant about Rena needing one last night of freedom before marrying her brother. They weren’t doing a big wedding or anything, but Natalia claimed it was a ‘rite of passage’. Andrew rolled his eyes and promised to be ‘missing’ for a night while Rena began to eagerly anticipate what awaited her. She was a big of a ‘closeted’ Party Animal.

It turned out to be an absolute blast.

14: Ashton – ‘She’s So High’

Lily Ashton (Young Adult), Mark McMaster (Young Adult)

Mark McMaster and Lily Ashton were finding that the act of actually getting married entailed a lot more work than either of them had realized. It had been a completely spontaneous thing, honestly. It was the right thing, but perhaps Mark could have gone about it in a better way and not in the wake of guilt brought on by his little affair.

Lily was clueless as to all of that, her brain far too occupied by all of the planning. She was in such a frenzy that she kept breaking everything. Mark teased her about it constantly. At least he was relatively handy.

13: Novak 2 – ‘Miserable’

Paula Novak (Young Adult), Stefan Novak (Young Adult), Gwendolyn Mosley (Young Adult), Stella Mosley (Child)

Since Stefan’s return, Gwendolyn found herself standing on shaky ground. It just wasn’t a situation she’d ever imagined herself in. She was surrounded by criminals and she’d even gotten herself knocked up by one. What had happened to that wholesome girl who was determined to do better than her lot in life? That seemed ages ago, a distant past that didn’t even feel like her own anymore.

Oh, Gwendolyn had tried to be good. She’d done everything right, but it had all backfired horribly. Fighting her true nature seemed to get her nowhere but ruin. So, instead, she drowned it out with alcohol. Unfortunately, Stefan’s sudden assumption of the role of ‘active father’ made him a constant thorn in the side of her fun.

11: Summer Wedding (Martel/Harcourt)

Sacha had been waiting for her wedding day for what seemed like an eternity.  As a little girl, she’d always dreamed of the day she’d meet the man of her dreams and walk down the aisle.  Despite all her success as a model and an actress, it never quite filled the void that being alone left her with.  Fame was nice, but it would eventually fade.  Sacha was more interested in a family of her own.

Even a little rain couldn’t put a damper on Sacha’s mood.  It was still early, the rain could stop at any time.  Sacha wasn’t the type to lose hope easily.

11: McMaster – ‘Follow You Down’

Patrick McMaster (Elder), Noreen McMaster (Elder),  Philip McMaster (Young Adult), Bianca Ornelas (Young Adult), Mark McMaster (Young Adult)

Philip McMaster wasn’t nervous as he greeted his long-time best friend, Luis Martel.  He was getting married within the hour, but he was cool as cucumber.  Outside, the temperature was rapidly dropping and it had been snowing for hours.  Winter had just barely begun and already, they knew it was going to be pretty harsh.

“You’re next!”  Philip joked, giving Luis a friendly jab.

“Not until it’s warm,” Luis said, glancing at the open door as another blast of cold air entered the room.  Oskar shuffled in and closed it behind him.  Luis shivered.  “I’ll never get used to the cold.”

Philip laughed.  “You’re in the wrong neck of the woods for warmth, man.”

9: Steel-Klein – ‘Shake the Disease’

Clark Klein (Vampire), Morrigan Hemlock (Vampire), Asha Steel (Adult), Emma Steel (Child), Julian Steel (Child)

Emma Steel was a lot of things.  She was graceful, skilled, and poised.  The only thing she lacked was zeal for academia.  She had no interest in school and made it known to everyone.  She didn’t care about her grades, something that she and Asha had argued over multiple times now.  Emma was an opinionated youth and she wasn’t about to let anyone tell her, not even her own mother, that she had to focus on something she hated.

She pled to Clark for help, but he stayed out of it.  She was certain he could get her out of school.  The fact that she knew that much was dangerous.  Asha scolded her anytime she tried to use Clark’s influence for her own merit.

7: Klein – ‘Two Princes’

Camilla Novak (Young Adult), Alex Klein (Young Adult)

Camilla Novak was not a saint by any means.  She was technically a ‘good person’, but that definition was vague and open to interpretation.  She was really only worried about herself.  The people around her were like planets orbiting her, the center of the universe.  They were there to make sure her life was interesting and to love her.  Camilla was definitely deserving of love.

4: Ashton/Martel – ‘Love Story’

Cherie Ashton (Adult), Khalid Ryder (Adult), Luis Martel (Teen), Lily Ashton (Toddler)

Khalid loved his job.  He wasn’t the type of guy that could be happy doing a typical 9 to 5 gig at some sort of stuffy, corporate office.  Fighting fires was exciting and he was a natural.

It was pretty good money, too.  Which allowed him to move Cherie and the kids to a bigger house that didn’t remind everyone of death.  It was just across the street from their old house, but moving had improved the overall mood of the family dramatically.

4: Novak – ‘Dreams’

Oskar Novak (Adult), Kelly McMaster (Young Adult), Stefan Novak (Teen), Paula Novak (Teen), Andrew Novak (Toddler)

Oskar Novak isn’t sure what it is about his kids, but the second they become teenagers, it’s like a switch goes off in their brain and they become completely different people.  Stefan and Paula are giving him the same problems that Camilla did.  Stefan, while a smart kid, prefers to try and get out of things than actually apply effort and do them.  It’s a frustrating dance that Oskar is tired of doing.
