8: Martel/Mosley – ‘Wild’

Luis Martel (Young Adult), Gwendolyn Mosley (Young Adult)

Luis sighed and turned away from the jail cell.  Paula had been locked up for twenty-four hours.  Being the low man on the totem pole had meant that Luis was stuck on ‘cell duty’.  There was no remorse for the past when you were a cop.

They hadn’t spoken much.  Luis had made sure of that.  He let her call her father and he’d been in several times now.  He was pulling every string he could to get her out.  Truth be told, they didn’t have any evidence, even after sweeping the scene.  The worst they could get her on was intent.

8: Novak 2 – ‘Touch, Peel, and Stand’

Stefan Novak (Young Adult), Paula Novak (Young Adult)

Paula, Stefan, and Gwendolyn were sitting around the television when the news came on.  Stefan liked to watch it just in case any of their heists were mentioned.  Instead of the typical, nightly news, they were shown a display of images and a reporter talking live about the disappearance of the entire Steel family.

“Ugh, that’s creepy,” Gwendolyn said, unable to suppress the shudder that crept down her spine.  “I wonder what happened to them?”

“Maybe they just left,” Stefan replied, completely unfazed.  “It happens.”

“I don’t know, Stefan.  This is just weird.”  Paula added, sharing Gwendolyn’s discomfort.  “Entire families don’t just disappear.”

8: Steel-Klein – ‘Darkside’

Clark Klein (Vampire), Morrigan Hemlock (Vampire), Asha Steel (Adult), Emma Steel (Child), Julian Steel (Toddler)

It had taken a great deal of time and patience, but Clark finally managed to get through to the ancient vampire.  Morrigan had never faced such a cunning mortal before.  He’d not only tricked her out of her gift, but he’d somehow convinced her that aiding him was in her best interest.

“Sell tickets.  It’s going to be quite the show.”

8: Klein – ‘Everything Counts’

Camilla Klein (Young Adult), Alex Klein (Young Adult), Rhys Klein (Toddler)

Camilla Klein was not what you’d call a ‘natural mother’.  Her son would be entering the school system soon and she was still battling with motherhood.  She just didn’t have the patience for it.  She had tried to get involved, but it was just difficult.  Maybe when Rhys was older, she’d be better at it, but right now?  He’d just have to be happy that she was around at all.

8: Ryder – ‘Outshined’

Cherie Ashton (Elder), Khalid Ryder (Adult), Lily Ashton (Teen), Jessica Ryder (Child), Jack Ryder (Child)

Cherie had not looked forward to her milestone birthday at all.  Getting old wasn’t something she’d ever really come to terms with, but here she was, old.  The tiny age gap between her and Khalid seemed like a chasm now.  The only thing that kept her feeling young was that she didn’t have any grandchildren yet.

She wasn’t quite ready to be a grandma!

8: Novak – ‘Shimmer’

Oskar Novak (Elder), Kelly McMaster (Adult), Andrew Novak (Teen), Natalia Novak (Child)

Kelly Novak wasn’t the best at video games, but she endured them for her youngest and only daughter, Natalia.  Natalia was usually a pretty active girl involved in ballet and painting, but every now and then she got the competitive itch.  If Andrew was too busy to play with her, she’d drag Kelly down into the den and beat her silly in video games.

8: Cosaro – ‘My Own Worst Enemy’

Dominic Cosaro (Adult), Sacha Harcourt (Young Adult)

Dominic had been seeing Sacha Harcourt on and off since he and Asha had parted ways.  She wasn’t really his girlfriend, but he did hook up with her quite a bit.  She was another model slash actress from Aperture Studios–Dominic definitely had a ‘type’.

Sacha was young, much younger than Dominic and even younger than Camilla.  It was hard to believe he had ever been that young and naive.

8: McMaster – ‘Pretty Noose’

Patrick McMaster (Elder), Noreen McMaster (Elder),  Philip McMaster (Young Adult), Mark McMaster (Teen), Juliet McMaster (Teen), Catherine McMaster (Teen)

Philip McMaster was doing everything in his power to forget about how abruptly he’d been dumped by Gwendolyn Mosley.  The shock of it all had finally worn off, leaving only anger and sadness in its wake.  Philip still loved her, he wasn’t the type to just ‘turn something off’ the second it became difficult… but he wasn’t sure if he’d ever want to be with her again.  Especially not with the rumors that had been flying around lately.

They’d only been broken up for two months and already he was hearing about her running around with his step-cousin, Stefan Novak.  What the hell was up with that?

Round 8 ROS

I’m starting ROS with round 8.  I’ll roll before the beginning of each round.  I rolled five this time, but that number may change depending on how many houses are added or lost.

My husband added his own titles to a lot of these.  I’m kind of disappointed the more hilarious ones didn’t pop up.  Even I haven’t seen all the things he’s changed.  I sent him a list, but he has an odd sense of humor.  ;)

I’m disappointed by this ROS, to be honest with you.  I figured two ‘Hurried Decisions’ in the bunch would make it interesting, but I doubt it.  We’ll see.

The silly fight one has a chance of going badly.  Let’s hope it does not!
