5: Novak 2 – ‘Open Up Your Eyes’

Camilla Novak (Young Adult)

[Lana Klein (Young Adult), Alex Klein (Young Adult), Dominic Cosaro (Young Adult)]

Camilla’s singing career was going great.  She wasn’t a huge name yet, but she was getting there.  Her album was selling more and more each day.  She spent a lot of her time playing any public place she possibly could.  The crowds were getting bigger and more exuberant.

Slowly, but surely, Camilla was becoming a household name.

5: Ryder-Martel – ‘Swallowed’

Cherie Ashton (Adult), Khalid Ryder (Adult), Luis Martel (Teen), Lily Ashton (Child), Jessica Ryder (Baby)

Cherie wasn’t sure she’d ever get used to be being a mother.  It was never a role she’d thought to play.  Now that she was, it was difficult to shake.  She loved Lily and Jessica; it was just strange to admit to herself that they relied on her.  Sure, she’d taken care of Luis, but it was different when it was your own flesh and blood.  There was a panic involved.

Little Jessica was a pretty easy baby, thankfully.  She was barely a year and it was already obvious she had inherited Khalid’s stoic calm.

5: Novak – ‘Desperately Wanting’

Oskar Novak (Adult), Kelly McMaster (Young Adult), Stefan Novak (Teen), Paula Novak (Teen), Andrew Novak (Child)

Kelly Novak was doing her best to deal with the loss of her mother, Sheila McMaster.  Thankfully, she had some good news to comfort her–she was pregnant again.  It had come as a surprise, but a happy one.  Oskar was getting overrun with children and made sure that Kelly was aware this was it.  Kelly was fine with that… provided it was a girl.  She really wanted a little girl.

The other kids were ambivalent about the whole thing.  What was one more kid in the house?  There was plenty of room.

5: Cosaro – ‘She Sells Sanctuary’

Dominic Cosaro (Young Adult), Asha Steel (Young Adult)

Asha met her brother, Xavier Steel, late in the night far from her house.  They had arranged the meeting so that Asha could give him what she’d obtained from the man’s house.  When Xavier finally arrived, Asha was beginning to doubt her resolve.  She did her best to maintain her confidence.

“Weird place to meet, sis,” Xavier began, looking around as if he were afraid of being followed.  “Though, I do hear this place has amazing burgers and I want a chance to try them…”

5: McMaster – ‘The Way’

Sheila McMaster (Elder), Patrick McMaster (Adult), Noreen McMaster (Adult),  Philip McMaster (Teen), Mark McMaster (Child), Juliet McMaster (Toddler), Catherine McMaster (Toddler)

The twin girls, Catherine and Juliet, were growing rapidly.  As much as Noreen loved having baby girls, she was happy to see them growing.  Dealing with two babies was exhausting and especially so when you had other children to look after.

The girls each seemed to favor one parent over the other; Catherine had Noreen’s hair while Juliet had Patrick’s.

4: Novak 2 – ‘Wild Ones’

Camilla Novak (Young Adult)

[Lana Klein (Young Adult), Alex Klein (Young Adult), Dominic Cosaro (Young Adult)]

Camilla Novak was on her way to becoming the next pop star sensation.  She had gigs, she had a manager, and she had even released her first album.  Everything was moving at the speed of light for her career and she loved every second of it.  She didn’t enjoy arguing with her manager, Alex Klein, though.  He was just so stubborn.  Couldn’t he just let her run the show?  Did he somehow forget who the talent was?

She didn’t need him nagging her about not spending late nights at clubs and parties.  He wasn’t her father!

4: Ashton/Martel – ‘Love Story’

Cherie Ashton (Adult), Khalid Ryder (Adult), Luis Martel (Teen), Lily Ashton (Toddler)

Khalid loved his job.  He wasn’t the type of guy that could be happy doing a typical 9 to 5 gig at some sort of stuffy, corporate office.  Fighting fires was exciting and he was a natural.

It was pretty good money, too.  Which allowed him to move Cherie and the kids to a bigger house that didn’t remind everyone of death.  It was just across the street from their old house, but moving had improved the overall mood of the family dramatically.

4: Novak – ‘Dreams’

Oskar Novak (Adult), Kelly McMaster (Young Adult), Stefan Novak (Teen), Paula Novak (Teen), Andrew Novak (Toddler)

Oskar Novak isn’t sure what it is about his kids, but the second they become teenagers, it’s like a switch goes off in their brain and they become completely different people.  Stefan and Paula are giving him the same problems that Camilla did.  Stefan, while a smart kid, prefers to try and get out of things than actually apply effort and do them.  It’s a frustrating dance that Oskar is tired of doing.

4: Cosaro – ‘The Freshman’

Dominic Cosaro (Young Adult), Asha Steel (Young Adult)

Dominic and Asha had worked their butt off, but their desire had finally been made real–they now owned a house located directly on the beach in Aperture City.  It cost a pretty penny and without Asha’s family money, they still owed on the mortgage, but it was theirs.

Asha was relieved, but unable to revel in the accomplishment.  Her family was still harassing her.  Dominic had tried to get her to talk to him, but she just became distant, so he gave up.

4: McMaster – ‘Rocketeer’

Sheila McMaster (Elder), Patrick McMaster (Adult), Noreen McMaster (Adult),  Philip McMaster (Teen), Mark McMaster (Toddler)

Philip McMaster likes being a teen, he just wished that it also didn’t mean he had to babysit his little brother, Mark.  He would much rather be playing video games with Luis or chatting with girls on the phone.  Instead, he was stuck helping out around the house with the animals and watching his brother.

Lame.
